Gemma Harrison
What I do:
I help oversee Home-start Caithness’ great work and help it stay true to its goals and stay focussed on supporting families in the best way possible.
Fun fact:
When I’m not helping out with HS I am usually with my fluffy spaniel Toby or being a leader with Halkirk Guides (where they enjoy me failing at arts and crafts!)
Debbie Balloch
What I do:
Looking to support the team and families at home start in any way I can.
Fun fact:
I have a lovely shadow that follows me about all day every day, a wee Jack Russell called Mac, my little man 😀
Anne-Marie Coghill
What I do:
You will see me out and about in the community, at local events and creating fundraising opportunities! I share what Home-Start Caithness is all about, what we do, how we support families, and how you, our community, can get involved with us too! So many people have such great skills that they might not realise is a real gift for us at Home-Start Caithness.
Fun fact:
Winter is my favourite time of year, being cosy at home, drinking tea and watching Strictly!
Josey Donachie
What I do:
Along with the other trustees and staff members I try to help to keep home start running smoothly.
Fun Fact:
I am also a committee member with the Pentland Firth Yacht Club and we are always looking for new members.

Do you have a genuine interest in joining our Board of Trustees?
We are looking for people who have business skills, IT skills, financial skills or just a desire to make a difference.
Trustees are fully inducted into Home-Start before beginning their new role. You will receive:
- An induction webinar, introducing Home-Start’s service and your responsibilities
- Safeguarding training: providing an overview of safeguarding children in Home-Start, how to respond to concerns about a child and understand where to go for advice and support
- Training on providing a high-quality service to families (quality assurance)
- Paid expenses
- Access to Home-Start’s intranet – full of information and guidance on running a local Home-Start
- Support of specialist staff at Home-Start UK
- Access to additional training as and when available
