Be a Home-Start Caithness Volunteer
‘The best thing about being a volunteer is the feeling of satisfaction that I am able to provide support and make a difference to a family when they need help to cope with the challenges they’re facing.’
Home-visit Volunteering
If you are a parent, grandparent or carer, you could be the vital support a family needs to make a difference in their lives
Some of our families may be dealing with a variety of difficulties including; post-natal depression, isolation, physical and mental health problems, bereavement, financial worries or relationship difficulties.
Your role will be to support them in the way that they want; this may include practical tasks such as getting out of the house, getting to appointments or helping to establish routines for the family. It could also involve offering advice and sharing experiences; or supporting parents through emotional issues.
In return we will provide all the training, expenses, guidance and support you need to be effective and make a real difference, whilst also providing you with the opportunity to meet new friends, enhance your wellbeing and develop transferrable skills to take into the workplace.
Please contact us for an informal chat and further information.
Fundraising Volunteer
Would like to help us fundraise locally, short term
or long term?
There are many ways you can fundraise for us; whether you want to run, cycle or trek, or organise your own event involving your work, school or local community group. You could bake cakes, run a quiz night, a toddle-a-thon, or even a glitzy fundraising ball, the choice is yours.
In return you will be part of our Home-Start community. We believe that the earliest years make the biggest impact: Home-Start makes sure those years count so that no child’s future is limited.
Children who are raised in a stable, loving, family environment are more likely to have a positive and healthy future.
Please contact us to see how you can help.
